Colon-hydrotherapy is a gentle and simple procedure. There is virtually no danger involved when performed under medical supervision. It involves a rectal insertion which may of course cause initial discomfort, but this is minimal and does not last long.
The procedure uses filtered and purified temperature-controlled water which flushes out the large intestine. The patient is positioned comfortably on his/her back. The medical professional in charge of administering the procedure is physically present during the entire procedure. During the procedure, approximately 25 to 30 litres of filtered and purified water is made to pass through the colon. This is done in several cycles but within one session. The process is based on the natural reflex of the intestinal tract thereby causing an evacuation.
There may be a delay in bowel movement, but this is quite normal.
