Shirodhara

The literal translation of the Sanskrit word Shirodhara could be ‘a flow or a cascade over the head’. It stands for an ancient, time tested and traditional Ayurvedic therapy which has a rich history and is known for its wide range of benefits.

To address various issues of the mind as well as the body, Ayurveda recommends Shirodhara. It has been known to soothe the mind and the body, to maintain a calm state of mind, keep the hormones in a perfectly balanced state, to promote health of the hair, to address healthy vision, to treat insomnia as well as for restoration of sound sleep. The process of Shirodhara involves a cascade of a medicinal liquid over the forehead in a steady flow, for a specific period of time.

A little more on Shirodhara:

Shirodhara goes back thousands of years. Revered and renowned Ayurvedic texts such as the Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita have much to say about this therapeutic procedure and its wide range of benefits for the mind as well as the body.
