Many people ask us if they should plan their largest meal at lunchtime. Digestion is related to your external environment and is closely linked to the sunrise and sunset. As the Sun progresses during the day, the appetite of a healthy person should increase.

Sometimes your eating habits can affect this process.

For example, if you skip meals in the morning and at midday, this may gradually alter your appetite, which is not recommended.

You should usually plan your most substantial meal for noon. We usually advise that people consume three meals each day. We recommend a meal in the morning, a meal towards noon and the lightest meal around sunset.

If you eat snacks between breakfast and lunch, ensure the snacks healthy and eat small quantities. We usually advise having a proper breakfast around 8 or 9 a.m, followed by a simple meal at noon.

Remember the best time to digest proteins and heavy foods is between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., which is the prime time of the fire, as per Ayurveda.

It is always advisable to look at the kind of ingredients you use in cooking your meals. For example, vegetables are lighter than meat products and are therefore easier to digest.

Microbial diversity is a measure of the number and quantity of the different microorganisms present in your sample. Average or high microbial diversity is associated with good health.
